ABSTRACT

The experiment was carried out in the wooden greenhouse at the Faculty of Agriculture / Samarra University, for the growing season from July 2022 to June 2023. A total of 108 seedlings (1.5 years old) of grapefruit and shaddock seedlings, grafted onto sour orange rootstock, to evaluate the effect of the leaf and nutrient solution on anatomical characteristics. The treatment included three concentrations of JA (0, 4, and 8 mmol L-1) and three levels of nutrient solution (0, 2.5, and 5 ml L-1). Spraying was carried out in three rounds, with the first application followed by two subsequent treatments at 21‑day intervals. This study was carried out according to the design of the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three factors: two citrus types (grapefruit and shaddock), a Jasmonates (JA) regulator, and a nutrient solution, with three seedling replicates per treatment. The results were analyzed using ANOVA with SAS software, and the least significant difference (LSD) at a probability level of 0.05 was used for pairwise comparisons. The grapefruit showed a significant increase in stomatal density at (182.8 mm-2), while shaddock recorded higher values in cell dimensions.
